Profhilo Treatment – Q&A blog post
Are you looking for a way to rejuvenate your skin and reduce the effects of aging? Profhilo is a non-surgical, injectable treatment that reduces sagginess, wrinkles, and restores skin to a youthful glow.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid used to rejuvenate the skin from the inside out and treat skin laxity. Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market – a substance renowned for its water retention abilities – that actively plumps and hydrates the skin.
What are the benefits of Profhilo?
Profhilo is a fast and effective way to restore skin that has lost its vibrancy and youthfulness. It improves skin tone and texture, increases hydration, and replaces volume. It’s a versatile treatment that can be used across different areas of the body as well as the face.
How does Profhlio work?
The hyaluronic acid is slowly released into the tissues of the skin, promoting the natural production of collagen and elastin to revitalise the skin.
As we age, we begin to lose the collagen and elastin from our skin giving it a papery, lackluster appearance. This also causes sagging and wrinkles in some areas of the face, adding to the appearance of aging. It’s believed that from the age of 20, we lose 1% of our natural collagen and elastin from the skin each year.
Profhlio works to replenish the lost collagen and elastin, as well as hydrating the skin to give it more bounce.
How long does it take to recover from a Profhilo treatment?
There is no downtime from a Profhilo treatment and you can carry on with your normal activities straight away. There may be some swelling and bruising at the site of the injections, but this should settle within 24 hours.
How long do the results last?
The results of your profhilo treatment will last around 6 months depending on your lifestyle and genetics. Some clients may find results last longer, while others may need top up treatments before 6 months.
Which areas can be treated with Profhlio?
Profhilo is injected into small targeted areas to treat loose skin, including
- The face
- Neck and jowls
- Upper arms
- Hands
- The decolletage
Is the Profhilo treatment painful?
Although some mild discomfort is expected during the treatment, it is not overly painful. A topical anesthetic can be administered before the treatment and over-the-counter painkillers can be taken afterwards.
What should I do after a Profhilo treatment?
The Profhilo treatment has minimal recovery time but we do recommend some small adjustments to help the healing process. We advise our clients to avoid strenuous activities for 24 hours afterwards, avoid saunas or hot, steamy baths for a few days, and to wait 48 hours before undergoing any other cosmetic procedures.
How much does Profhlio cost?
Profhilo treatments start from around £250 per treatment and most clients need at least two treatments to achieve their desired results.
Top up treatments are also recommended every 4-6 months to prolong the results of your Profhilo injections.
